2025 Reflections and 2026 Goals
It seems like 2025 came and went in a flash. Looking back, I’m happy to say that I continued being social and made some more friends. This past year, I.. Built a home server Okay, I actually built it in 2024, but I used it a lot this year and had a lot of fun setting up VMs with Proxmox . I keep all of my notes there, a gaming VM, and various media containers too. It may be recency bias, but I installed immich and have had a great experience with it, and even started a photo frame project that has been a lot of fun.

Apple’s New iPhone Release Schedule Seems to Pay Off
Horace Dediu, tweeting yesterday on Apple’s results: iPhone grew at 17% sales which is amazing considering they did not launch the 18 or the Duo or the new Air in the quarter. The Duo didn’t launch until October, which is Q1 (in Apple’s financial calendar). And the Air, last year, was not a big seller ( putting it lightly ). The big bet Apple made this year was postponing the regular iPhone 18 until the end of winter early next year.
