About onsuggest
We want to bring the internet back to the way it once sparked curiosity.
A discovery stream that brings back the joy of stumbling on good things on the internet.
How it works
- Open the page and the first discovery appears by itself. No sign-up needed.
- Like what you like and mark the rest as "Not for me". The stream adapts to this feedback.
- If you don't like a source, you can see less of it or hide it completely.
- Save what you like and add things you want to watch or read to your list.
How are suggestions chosen?
We don't use AI. Suggestions are picked by explainable rules: your tag and source preferences, community signals, whether something was shown before, and a controlled dose of surprise. One like won't lock the stream onto a single topic, and one "not for me" won't shut out a whole category.
In short, every pick is a score:
- Your taste: topics and sources you like move up; “not for me” pushes them back.
- Others' votes: content many people liked gets a small boost. A few votes count for little.
- Newness: things nobody has seen yet get a head start.
- Variety: the same source or topic won't repeat back to back.
- A little surprise: now and then we show something at random on purpose.
Privacy
We keep your session ID and preferences on the server and only set a signed session cookie in your browser. We don't measure how long you stay on external sites and never count a long-open tab as a like. Preview images are served from our own server, so viewing a card sends no request to the publisher's site.
Content and sources
Every item has a source: a channel, blog or site. On platforms like YouTube the source is the channel, not the platform itself. Use "Report a problem" for links that don't open or are wrong.
