In Git, a commit is the minimal unit of changes that can be applied to a repository. We can send multiple commits (e.g. multiple patches) to someone else, and they can selectively apply some of them without applying all of them. Or they can provide feedback for individual patches. Pull requests change this model: each PR contains multiple commits, and the workflow focuses on applying all or none of them. Fixing qBittorrent in Docker, swallowing RAM and locking up the host

IntroI’ve had qBittorrent running happily in Docker for over a year now, using the linuxserver/qbittorrent image. I run the docker container and others on an Ubuntu Server host. Recently, the host regularly becomes unresponsive. SSH doesn’t work, and the only way to recover is to power cycle the server (running on a small NUC). The symptoms were: RAM usage would climb and climb, the server would become sluggish, and then it would completely lock up.

Fixing pointing stick on thinkpad

I bought my thinkpad T480 back in like 2017-2018 (I think) and there have been ups and downs to my time with it. but one thing that has always bugged me is the pointing stick. Apparently Debian and the Thinkpad T480 pointing stick really don't work well together. if I have just booted up my computer, its OK enough and I dont feel any wrist strain. But often, when I wake my computer up from sleep, it is SOOOO SLOW , I develop wrist pain trying to get the bloody mouse to move and just give up and use an external mouse.
