Yoo Doo Right – Build and Rest by the Shepherd’s Light: Album Review

Hailing from Montreal, Canada’s second-largest city, Yoo Doo Right produce perhaps the largest sound to emanate from the country of the Maple Leaf flag. Their new album Build and Rest by the Shepherd’s Light cements their reputation as purveyors of experimental-cum-krautrock-cum-post rock-cum-pretty much everything and the kitchen sink. With the help of some familiar […] The post Yoo Doo Right – Build and Rest by the Shepherd’s Light: Album Review appeared first on Louder Than War .

The Homesick: What’s Up With All These Shangri-Las – Album Review

A wonderful and mystifying pop odyssey from Dokkum’s finest. God gets everywhere. Compiled by resident engineer/producer Bri Doom, who provides liner notes on the studio history. Neil Crud applauds loudly. There is something […] The post Various Artists – Cronyvirus Detector: A Studio 1 in 12 Sampler Vol 1 – album review appeared first on Louder Than War .

Ugly: The South Facade – Album Review

Notebooks out progressive fans! An enervating and memorable, if damned eccentric debut from Ugly. What to make of Ugly’s debut album? The shrill trill of guitar that leads in opener Wasteland introduces an album that is at turns incredibly catchy, nerdy, wimpy, tooth-rottingly saccharine, sharply observed, beautifully played, brilliantly clever and overbearingly precocious. On hearing […] The post Ugly: The South Facade – Album Review appeared first on Louder Than War .
