I started this blog a few months ago and have not posted since my "hello world". ugh, there is just simply not enough time to blog. In late 2025 and early 2026 I used to run another blog and I loved it. So that is what I am doing right now, getting back to the stuff I love :). you could call this my first "real" post That's pretty much all that I have to say for now but I am excited to do this again and grow a community :-) ENJOY! subscribe?

life is like a claw machine
life is like a claw machine Today, I was at a shop and I noticed they had a claw machine with cute stuffed animals in the back. So naturally I walked over and looked at it, there were a few different options, I chose $3.20 for 3 plays. I didn't win anything so I came up with the idea for this blog post. Life is comparable to a claw machine, it is basically gambling. I don't know if this will really make sense but it's almost like a pay to win game. "Oh just give me this and you have a chance to get that". my second thought: (kind of similar) Force buying/pressure is also kind of similar to thi

that summer feeling
Summer started about a month ago I have a mix of emotions, I am happy because it is summer (duh). But I have another feeling, not as much joy, more like sadness. I just looked back at some photos of the first few days of summer and I was so happy because it felt like school would never happen again. But now as it gets later that feeling is fading and I am becoming sad ...

rav endpoint?
A few days ago I opened my pc to see a little icon in the corner that I have not seen before. When I clicked on it, it opened an app that I had never installed called "Rav Endpoint". At first I thought "what kind of virus did I install", untill I saw the Microsoft logo in the corner. That's when I realized that Microsoft installed their virus protection software without my consent and now is trying to get me to pay for it. This kind of makes me think from a business standpoint, imagine your Microsoft. Auto-installing software with a paywall to a bunch of people must make them a lot of money. I

stickers
I recently got a case for my Macbook and put some stickers on it. This made me think about the true meaning of stickers to me. They are less about the looks and more about the memories they carry. Idk it's kind of like photos to remember memories. Idk this was a short post Reply via email: halfway.blog@proton.me Thanks!

Basics Anki : ✅ Tones : ❌ Immersion : ❌ Miscellaneous Thoughts Spoke Chinese for the first time today. I think she understood me? I have no idea what she replied though lol. It was also my first time hearing Chinese in real life since studying and it’s cool how I can catch a few words every once in a while. One step at a time

Chinese Notes 24
Basics Anki : ✅ Tones : ❌ Immersion : ❌ Miscellaneous Thoughts Ramadan came and completely fell off the wagon lol. Time to slowly try and work my way back up again and try and have some consistency by the end of the year. Maybe some Italki lessons or speaking stuff for encouragement? At the end of the day, I'm not trying to get suuuper fluent just some basic competency in the spoken language.

Chinese Notes 25
Basics Anki : ✅ Tones : ❌ Immersion : ❌ Miscellaneous Thoughts Chinese is slowly coming back although the only thing I'm doing right now is reviews. Once reviews hit less than 10 reps a day, I'll start adding new cards back in the mix. 1 There was a point where I was doing just one new card a day to at least make some progress, but I ended up stopping. One new card a day is probably the better idea to keep moment going but couldn't be bothered tbh 🤷 ↩

A dirty secret exposed: Cosmetics and women’s cancer risk

It also found that the younger group had a significantly increased risk of […]

Gene edited synthetic products are overwhelming daily life
Forty years ago the first varieties of genetically modified crops were planted in open fields in the US. Ever since there has been a sustained popular movement to call for these to be banned or at the very least contained and labelled in shops. Today, battles continue to be fought with legislators and regulators across […]

Forewarned is Forearmed: If you believe buying conventional supermarket produce will be safe enough, think again.
