Digitalization front-runners are more vulnerable to cyberattacks
For many business leaders, digitalization is associated with promises of greater efficiency and productivity. However, a new study by professor of accounting Jukka Sihvonen from the University of Vaasa, Finland, suggests that increasing digitalization may also raise a company's risk of falling victim to a successful cyberattack. The study has been published in the journal British Journal of Management.

Want more social media engagement? Research suggests changing the message, not your personality
Want more engagement on social media? Stop repeating yourself. Just don't change who you are in the process. That's according to new Case Western Reserve University research suggesting that public figures can increase engagement by varying their topics and wording while "maintaining a consistent psychological voice."

The etiquette and politics of whisky write-ups and reviews
Reader discretion advised: Rant incoming, partially triggered by a whisky producer who didn’t take kindly to some feedback I gave them about their whisky. It seems the etiquette and politics of whisky write-ups and reviews might be evolving. But first I’ll set the scene…. I’ve been writing about whisky for over 20 years now; I … Continue reading "The etiquette and politics of whisky write-ups and reviews" The post The etiquette and politics of whisky write-ups and reviews appeared first on Whisky and Wisdom .

The Glendronach “Ode to….” series
Glendronach distillery has always had a loyal fan base; indeed, for those who enjoy the sherried-style of single malt Scotch whisky, Glendronach is one of the first distilleries that comes to mind. Located in Huntly, just to the east of the Speyside region, it is one of the smaller and more traditional distilleries, but – … Continue reading "The Glendronach “Ode to….” series" The post The Glendronach “Ode to….” series appeared first on Whisky and Wisdom .

Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old
There are two big names when it comes to American whiskey, and one of them is Jack Daniel’s. For many years, there was a cheeky saying in the States that America’s favourite whiskey wasn’t a bourbon. Because, by definition, Jack Daniel’s is not a bourbon! It’s a Tennessee Whiskey, which we’ll elaborate on in a … Continue reading "Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old" The post Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old appeared first on Whisky and Wisdom .

Glenfiddich 16 Aston Martin
Glenfiddich – the single malt that started it all back in 1963 – is the quintessential Speyside whisky. We’re all so familiar with the flagship 12yo expression, whisky enthusiasts often overlook the older and limited-release expressions in the range. Indeed, even though we wrote the piece over 10 years ago now, our article The three … Continue reading "Glenfiddich 16 Aston Martin" The post Glenfiddich 16 Aston Martin appeared first on Whisky and Wisdom .

Falkirk Distillery
For many years – decades, in fact – if you were a whisky enthusiast visiting either Edinburgh or Glasgow and you only had half a day spare to visit a distillery, your options were pretty much limited to either Glenkinchie or Auchentoshan. Torabhaig Distillery – the new kid on the block
When speaking of the many new distilleries to have set up and commenced operations in the last 10 years, we often refer to them as “the new kid on the block”. Which is fair enough if you set up in the Highlands and you’re one of many distilleries already established in the area. But what … Continue reading "Torabhaig Distillery – the new kid on the block" The post Torabhaig Distillery – the new kid on the block appeared first on Whisky and Wisdom .

Mural at the New Buffalo Bills Stadium
It’s exciting to finally share the mural I made for the Buffalo Bills Public Art Program at Highmark Stadium. I still need to do the final documentation photos. The mural is in an entrance hallway/stairwell on the 100 level. It’s quite difficult to photograph. The piece, entitled “The Elements” is 6 feet high by 36 feet long, acrylic paint on dibond panels. In the slides I note the meaning of the various images. I didn’t grow up being super interested in sports, but as I got older I came to realize the value of having something that people care about across all of the lines that divide a city.
